How Botox works:
Botox is a purified protein obtained from bacteria Clostridium Botulinum. When injected into the muscle it temporally blocks transmission of the impulses from the nerve endings to the muscles making the muscle unable to contract and form wrinkles on the skin. It is not a muscle toxin. It is an inhibitor of impulse transmission from the nerve to the muscle. It has a very impressive safety record with over 3 millions injections performed a year in US only.

How facial fillers work:
Fillers are soft tissue expanders, which have multiple uses. When injected under the skin they elevate the skin and correct pre-existing facial defects (wrinkles, folds, depressions) or augment existing facial structures (lips, eye browns). Most commonly used at present are fillers of the hyaluronic acid group and represent a resent breakthrough for augmentation technology (Restylane, Juvederm). They became a "gold standard" in soft tissue augmentation for correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. They will continue to be mainstay in the treatment of the "aging face" as they are predictable and have a long history of safety and efficacy.
With our aesthetic services we decided to focus on elimination and reduction of the visible signs that aging, stress and poor lifestyle habits reflect on the face and neck. Most commonly we utilize Botox injections, soft tissue fillers (collagen like). These treatments are minimally invasive and require very little to no recovery time. They also have the advantage of lower cost and risk when compared to surgery.
